SMITH, Gilbert 'Gil' Guy - Passed away peacefully at the Greater Niagara General Hospital on Sunday March 3, 2024 at the age of 90. Beloved husband of Patricia 'Pat' Smith (nee Nero) and loving father of the late Richard (2022). Cherished grandfather of Jordan (Krista) DeMedeiros Smith, Alexandra (Kyle) Aylesworth and great-grandfather of Rogan. He will be fondly remembered by his daughter-in-law Manuela, as well as several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents and siblings. Grandpa Gil will be remembered by his politeness and gentlemanly gestures, to not only his wife Pat, but to everyone he met. You were always welcomed by a firm handshake, hard high-five or giant hug. Gil supported his grandchildren by attending as many sporting events as he could, with his wife by his side. Any chance he got, he was ready to share a story from his past. Cremation has taken place. Friends are invited to join the family at the PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME, 6062 Main St. Niagara Falls, visiting Wednesday March 13, 2024 from 1 to 3 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 3:30 pm at Sacred Heart Church, Chippawa. In memory of Gil, memorial contributions may be made to The Last Post Fund, and would be appreciated.
