Helen Saddler was one of my mom's best friends. She was "little Helen" of the Humble Club. I have fond memories of her and her classroom at Victoria school where my mom was secretary. She was a beautiful, kind lady and I'm certain she has touched many young children's lives. Thank you, Helen, for bringing so much joy to the ladies of the Humble Club. So many wonderful memories for them, especially "at the cottage".

I was deeply sorry to hear of Mrs. Sadler's passing.  I was a student at Victoria School when Mrs. Sadler taught there and I will always remember her kindness and understanding.  I later did a placement at the new Victoria School when I was in University and Mrs. Sadler and the other teachers were great mentors.  I met her years after I had graduated and she remembered me after all that time had passed.  She was a very special lady.

I hope that you will find comfort in the memories that you have of her.

Both of our children were fortunate to have Mrs. Sadler as their kindergarten teacher.  Our son Michael had her as his first teacher at the old Victoria School when her class was in the "chicken coop', and Pamela was in her class at the new Victoria School.  What a wonderful beginning she gave to all the children.  Even today 30+ years later our family still remembers Mrs. Sadler and her red high heels with fondness.  May she rest in peace.

My dear Hennie, you were such an important part of my youthful years. Thank you .Your humour and goodwill towards others was truly an inspiration for all. I know Jack, Johnny and Rick are welcoming home...God Bless you all

I live in Connecticut now, though I grew up in Niagara Falls.  I occasionally read the Niagara Falls Review online and stumbled over her obituary.  She was my kindergarten teacher in 1979 and I remember her as a wonderful teacher.  Years later, friends and I used to marvel at how she always remembered our names and little things about us (such as how one of us couldn't say the letter "R" or one of us had a hard time tying our shoes) when we ran into her at the grocery store or at Niagara Square, even long after we graduated elementary school.  I also can't recall a single time that she was ever cross or had anything but a smile on her face.  We used to sometimes joke that if Mr. Rogers had a wife on his TV show, it would have been Mrs. Sadler.  I will always remember her fondly.

Helen will always be remembered, we have so many wonderful memories growing up on Arthur St. with her, Jack, Johnny and Ricky. Helen was a very special lady. I remember when her birthday would come she would always say with that beautiful smile on her face and the twinkle in her eyes " you know I am only 25 years old." She will be missed. Many years ago I was the speech pathologist in the schools and Helen was always one of my very favorite  kindergarten teachers.  She was so competent and always "up". The children adored  her and learned too.  She made me two adorable snowmen (one lady and one man) with a coffee can base and cotton(this had to be in the early a70's) . I still put them out every Christmas and think of her. She was a VERY special lady.. Linda (Delotis) Duguay

If a person could be held up as a role model for what traits an outstanding teacher should have, it would have to be Mrs. Sadler. She loved her job, had patience and believed all of her students were special.  Our boys were most fortunate to have started their educational journey with her as their kindergarten teacher.
