

MULLIN, James 'Arnie' - Passed away peacefully at the Greater Niagara General Hospital on Tuesday August 20, 2024 at the age of 88. Beloved husband of 66 years to Marguerite (nee Vermeeren) 'Marg' and cherished father of Kim Giajnorio and the late Sean Mullin (2013). Loving grandfather of Megan (Chris) Giajnorio, Erik (Lindsay) Giajnorio, Pierce (Yara) Mullin and Laurel Mullin. Predeceased by his parents James and Sarah (nee MacDonald) Mullin, parents-in-laws Jacques and Maria Vermeeren, sisters Mary Johnston, Joan (Jo) Galley, Sheila Lamb, Jamesene (Jimizie) McDonald, Nan Smith brother Dr. Gower Mullin, brothers-in-law Charles Vermeeren and Dr. Jack Vermeeren. He is survived by many nieces and nephews. Arnie was born on December 7, 1935 in Charlottetown PEI. He received his Bachelor of Arts from St. Dunstan's University, his Masters of Art from Niagara University, his Masters of Education from Brock University and the University of London, England (AIE). He was a Lieutenant with the Black Watch in the Canadian Army. He taught geography and was the Geography Department Head at Westlane Secondary School. He lectured at the University of New Brunswick, Brock University and Niagara College. Arnie was a member of the 4th degree Knights of Columbus Hennepin Council 1831. Friends are invited to join the family at the PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME, 6062 Main St. Niagara Falls, visiting Thursday September 5, 2024 from 11am to 1:30 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2 pm at St. Thomas More Church. Cremation will follow. In memory of Arnie, memorial contributions may be made to St. Thomas More Church and would be appreciated.
