Great teacher, I always left the classroom enlightened.

I met Arnie first when his kids were students of mine later we shared education stories and strategies in a professional lives,again as church members and finally as we both retired.
Please accept my condolences for a great guy and friend ,I wish the family peace and love. So hold hands and keep his memory with you as you deal with your grief.

Dear Kim,  Your dad was one of my mentors when I was a student teacher at Westlane.  He was a strict and fair gentleman filled with honour, conviction and passion for his profession.  I will always be grateful that he took the time to  share his wisdom, advice and kindness.  My deepest condolences to you and your family for  your loss.

Mr Mullin was my grade 10 homeroom and geography teacher at Westlane.  He was a remarkable professional and it has never been forgotten that he was so concerned about my work on a final geography exam that he phoned my parents! A rare interest from a secondary school teacher! 😊 I was thrilled that as an elementary school principal to be present with one of my staff retirees at his Board retirement dinner and treasure the photo taken of the two of us that evening! I guess my respect for me disallowed me at that point to call him anything but Mr Mullin! He struck me as a person who lived and loved life so my sympathies are with his loved ones who shared that zest (PEI rooted) for life with him. I have very fond memories of him and his classes! 

How sad to hear that Arny, your husband, father, father-in-law and grandfather, has passed away.

We, Bé, Betty, Marco and Charlotte, met Arny and you in 2002 when we were on holiday in the USA and Canada. My mother asked before we left: Aren't you going to visit the family? 

When we arrived in Niagra we decided to visit you. With an address in our pocket, we looked for your house and unexpectedly showed up at your door. After an initial handshake and announcing who we were, you threw everything aside and canceled appointments because we were there: family from the Netherlands. How often does that happen?

You were as surprised as we were. What a nice family who did everything they could to make us happy. These 2 days, during which we ate together and during which you showed us around in and around Niagra and the Falls, were in retrospect the highlight of this 3-week trip. Only good memories and lasting contacts with your daughter Kim and her children Megan and Erik.

Now you have to process this loss and give it a place. On behalf of the 4 of us, we wish you all the strength to do so.

Just want you to know how distressed I am to hear of Arnie’s passing.
It was indeed a miracle that you were able to have Arnie at home for so long.He loved you all so much and loved being in his home.
He adored you Marg and will continue to do so for eternity.
You, his children and grandchildren have first place in his heart.He was a great guy,a great friend and a superb educator.

Mr. Mullin was my Geography teacher in the 60's at Westlane.  He was one of my favorite teachers.

Arnold was not only my Godfather, and one of my father's oldest friends, he was family.  He will be in my heart forever.  So glad we could spend time last fall.

I had the pleasure of being taught by Mr. Mullin in 1986, he was one of my favourite teachers; who was kind, caring and inspiring. It was a privilege to be taught by him, he was a wonderful person!

Arnie & Family were our Hagar Avenue neighbours and friends for years. I am so glad we were able to have a lovely dinner in your backyard hosted by Kim, dinners at Maria's and the night at the Keg.. Thoughts and prayers.

Mr. Mullin was a gregarious, larger than life teacher when I had him from 1973-1977 at Westlane. Arnie and I had a rather special relationship since I was a geographic prodigy and never chewed gum during class (or ever, really). He did have a plethora of stories and I'm not sure which ones were suppose to be taken seriously and which were not.  He often made the point that a two man crew with a bandsaw was more efficient than a single man with a power chain-saw but a lot of his stories made you think. After 1977, was never in Niagara Falls much but did bump into him about 15 years ago at a historical function. It was like going back in time with him; he seemed to be very much the personality I remember 35 years previously. I know that Arnie had a strong faith so I celebrate his ascendancy to his Saviour, the good race now at an end.

Arnie was a great man. I feel very lucky to have met him and I loved hearing his stories. He will be missed. My heartfelt condolences to the family. I am so sorry for your loss.
