James Dalton Bretherick

Sadly missed by his daughter Laurie (Peter) Primeau, sons Scott and Robert and daughter Betty Bretherick. Beloved grandfather to Nicole (Matt) Salewski, Daniel Primeau, Kristen (Daniel) Ceci, and Emily Haskins and 5 great-grandsons. Predeceased by our mother/grandmother Norma (April 2020), his parents, George and Elsie Bretherick, brother Gerald Bretherick(Bert), sister Deann Saunders(Gary) and nephew Carl Saunders.

Jim retired from GM after 30 years and in his retirement enjoyed working as a by-law enforcement officer for the City of Niagara Falls as well as being a school crossing guard. Jim was a veteran and a member of the Legion Niagara Falls branch #51 and Merritton branch #138. He also volunteered for St. Johns Ambulance, was an instructor for the Navy Cadets in St. Catharines and a member of the Merritton Athletic Association.

We would like to thank Major Renee, Dr. McGarry and the 2nd flooring nursing staff at Eventide Home for making his last days comfortable and for the heartwarming sendoff provided for our dad.

In keeping with Jim’s wishes, cremation and a private graveside service to take place at a later date.
