Joan Tarnawsky

Passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 10, 2013 at 92 years of age. Loving wife of the late Nick Tarnawsky (1993). Beloved mother of Michael (Judy) of Welland, Malcolm (Kerry) of Kamloops, BC, Rosalyn Thompson (Keith) of Fredericton, NB, Susan Bearss (Larry) of Ridgeway, Julie Climenhaga (Greg) of Niagara Falls, and the late Billy Tarnawsky (1946). Sadly missed by her grandchildren Lisa, Jennifer & Daria; Tracey, Shelley & Shaun; David & Daniel; the late Kristen (2011), Craig & Steven; Brad & Andrew; and by her four step-grandchildren. Fondly remembered by her 21 great grandchildren, and her step-great grandchildren. She is survived by her sister Betty, and brothers William & Peter, all of England. Predeceased by her sister Vera (2000) and by 3 great grandchildren. She was known affectionately as “Grandma T.” at Falls View Brethren in Christ Church where she was a faithful member.

Family & friends will be received at Hetherington & Deans Funeral Chapel, 5176 Victoria Avenue, Niagara Falls on Wednesday from 7 – 9 PM and Thursday from 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 PM. A funeral service will be held at Falls View Brethren in Christ Church, 7189 Drummond Road, Niagara Falls on Friday, February 15, 2013 at 1 PM. Interment in Lundy’s Lane Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to Village of Hope - Hope House Orphanage, Haiti would be appreciated.
