Way too late. Jackie, I need to say that Joe was an unusual person. Meet him and you knew he would be a great friend. Even my Son, now 43, then maybe 6, recognized that. I’m sorry he is gone. You both deserved more time together.

Jackie and family...as a member at one of the golf courses here in Niagara it was always a pleasure to play with Joe and Jackie...Joe was a good athlete and his demeanour on and off the course proved that...easy to talk to and a good player in his own right.

Our volleyball road trips were never dull, there was always an analysis on the way home with a few laughs.     Joe will be missed by many and was truly one of the good guys. Sending our sincerest condolences for your loss. I have so many happy childhood memories of your family. Trips in the car to get ice cream, going to the Fireman’s picnic at Muscle Mans lake and dancing to Joe’s records on your stereo. Joe liked to tease me when I was young - just like a big brother would. ❤️

While being Joe’s chiropractor when they lived in Mississauga, Joe would come in for his regular  treatments that kept him feeling good and able to be active with all the sports he was doing. However, it was always me that actually felt better when he left, not necessarily Joe! That was because Joe would always ask about how everything was with me (it was never about him!) and he could always provide a positive outlook on anything that was going on in his life or what he found out about mine. Joe was such a great guy and his enthusiasm was infectious. So sad to hear that he is gone from our lives. What a loss. Take care Jackie. 

I met Joe a number of times at Christmas, and he made me feel welcome, Jackie you have my condolences at your loss.

We will miss you Uncle Joe. I was lucky to have a great Uncle like you. You always took us out for fun events when we were kids. You  offered us great advice and really cared about us. I'll always remember the great memories. Thanks you for everything Uncle Joe and Aunt Jackie.

Joe and I met at the Haig Bowl arena in 2022.  He was a very good pickleball player and I enjoyed many games playing with and against him.  We spoke about entering a tournament together, but it never came to be.  You'll be missed on the courts and in life Joe.  Rest in Peace.

R.I.P. Joe. You and I had many an adventure while working out of Lansdowne division. Lots of laughs and gags while working with good people. Those were the days my friend. Sorely missed.

I am very sad to hear of the passing of Joe. Although we worked for the TTC we did not have anything to do with each other there however, in our youth we both worked together for Dominion Store at Danforth and Victoria Park in East York. He was always a nice guy.

Uncle Joe, my heart wasn't ready for the amount of pain your passing has caused.
You were an amazing man who was loved dearly and you will always hold a special place in my heart.
Thank you for everything you've done for me in my life, you will be missed.

Joe, thank you for being my big brother, even those times I didn't deserve it and the times mom made you take me with you to get me out of the house. I could not be more proud of the man you became. You fought with dignity while still caring for your family.

Joe was fun to be around. We went on many trips to Michigan for golf with Joe and Jackie. Also played slo-pitch with and against Joe for many years. Joe was a shrewd Euchre player as well. Joe was always happy to lend a helping hand. We will miss our dear friend.

Joe was one of the best! He was genuinely interested in how everyone was doing. He had a knack for remembering little details from previous conversations, even if it was months ago!  I will remember Joe with love and treasure my memories always. 💖

He was a good man to his family and friends and will be missed. Thanks for all the good times Joe and sorry for your loss Jackie.

It saddens me to hear of the loss of Joe. He was a kind man who always took an interest in other people. He was a joy at our summer get togethers.

Genuine to the core! A man who really listened and cared! A wonderful coach/captain leader of the baseball team! A cherished friend who was always there for lending a hand and ready to celebrate any occasion. Our heart aches for Jackie as well as for Joe’s family. Having had Joe as part of our lives for over 40 years has been a wonderful gift. We cherish our times together. Everything from going to Arizona to see the Leafs play to, most of recently,  playing pickleball in Florida. Joe’s genuine and caring heart will be severely missed. Always a great conversationalist and true friend who would do anything to help out. Joe, hoping you can get your Buc-cees brisket sandwich where ever you are now. Love ya!

You were the best biggest brother, you took that job very seriously.  You were always there for us, and when Matt and Mike came you were there for them as well. The genuine interest you had in our lives was always appreciated, even if it didn't seem that way.

You were the best big brother a sister could ask for!! Your kindness went all the way back to when you were young. So many memories... Me thinking how cool you were at high school....The two of us dancing to the same song over and over again at a party.....you teaching me to drive......going to the drive-in together with me being your go-fer. Later you were the most amazing Uncle to Shane, Patricia & Steve...Thanks for all you did for us. We will love you forever and you not need worry about Mom we shall make sure she is good!!

Joseph Michael Douglas, I will miss you forever and a day, you were the best man to go shopping with and had the patience of a saint when I was always undecided. You will always be in my heart and mind till I meet you again. Thank you for being my son.

You will never find a sweeter, kinder person than Joe. He was always willing to help out any way he could, genuinely interested in what was going on in our lives and his humour added joy to any gathering. We are deeply saddened to hear of his passing and our thoughts are with you Jackie, we can only imagine the loss you are feeling.
