

DUNN, James 'John' - Passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family, at Valley Park Lodge on Sunday October 6, 2024 at the age of 91. Beloved husband of 68 years to Sandra (nee MacDonald) and cherished father of Deborah (Robert), John 'Bill' (Margaret), Warren (Gail), Patricia (Rob). Loving grandfather of Jody (Joe), Andrew (the late Callie), Sarah (Javier), Scott, Leigh (Michael), Patricia (Carlos), George (Samantha), Lauren (Bradley), Nadine (Jonathan), Connor (Kintara), Rachel (Nigel), Cassandra (Mehran), Adam and great-grandfather of Austin, Jacob, Mary, Joseph, Eva, Grace, Diana, Beau, Maggie, Teddy, Miliana, Ludavica. He will be fondly remembered by his sisters Hazel (the late Maury), Gloria (the late Red), Linda (Rick), siblings-in-law Liz (the late Willie), Greg (Doreen), Grace (the late Larry), Larry (Jackie), as well as many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents William Trudgeon and Stella Marie (nee Metallic) Dunn, sisters Grace, Jeanie, Elizabeth, brother-in-law Robert, sister-in-law Kathy (Dan). John was born and raised in Montreal. He graduated from McGill University with a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering. Sandra and John were married, and moved to Niagara Falls where he accepted a position at BF Goodrich. He had several positions there and eventually became plant manager. John excelled at baseball, basketball, hockey, running, and his favourite passion golf. He enjoyed travelling with his wife and grandchildren in their RV, touring Canada and the USA. His children and grandchildren meant the world to him. John was an avid classical music lover and opera buff. Sandra and John played bridge fervently. The family thanks the most caring and loving staff imaginable at Valley Park Lodge. Friends are invited to join the family at the PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME, 6062 Main St. Niagara Falls, visiting Wednesday October 9, 2024 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. A Funeral Service in celebration of his life will be held Thursday October 10, 2024 at 2 pm at St. John's Stevensville United Church (14789 Sodom Road). For those who wish, a livestrem of the funeral service will be available at www.niagaraonlineworship.com. Cremation will follow with interment at a later date in St. John's Stevensville United Church Cemetery.
