Peacefully at the Greater Niagara General Hospital in his 78th year. Survived by his brothers George and Gary (Trish) Rodgers, sister Phyllis O’Halloran sons Billy and Joey Rodgers, brother-in-law Bob Johnson and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents, George “Tiny” and Jean (nee Gillies), wife Barb, daughter Wendy, sister Pat Johnson, and nephew Bob Johnson. Joe worked at the Ford Glass Plant in Niagara Falls and also worked for many years as a custodian at a school in Rochester, NY. Joe was an avid Blue Jay’s baseball and Boston Bruins hockey fan and enjoyed swimming, camping and boating.
The family will receive visitors at HETHERINGTON AND DEANS FUNERAL CHAPEL, 5176 Victoria Ave. Niagara Falls on Thursday April 14th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service in the Chapel on Friday April 15th at 11:30a.m. with burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Alzheimer’s Society, Ronald McDonald House or Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
