Karin (Strohschein) Dobro

On the evening of Tuesday June 14th, Karin (nee Strohschein) Dobro left this world to be with our Lord and join her husband, Bruno, in heaven. Loving mother of Andrew and Cathy, and Nadine and Patrick. Devoted grandmother of Ada and Zeda. Beloved companion of Brian.

Karin immigrated to Edmonton Alberta Canada with her family in 1951 from Germany. She met Bruno Dobrowolski, also from Germany, at church in Edmonton. They married in 1962 and moved to the Niagara area shortly after, where Andrew and Nadine were born. Karin and Bruno were very active and enjoyed cycling together, exploring the quiet areas of Niagara, a hobby that has been passed on to Nadine and Patrick. Karin and Bruno also enjoyed dinner and dancing and went regularly on the weekends. Karin’s love of all things sparkly was impressed upon her granddaughters Ada and Zeda through her gifts of costume jewelry which she would bring them on her visits. She was also an avid reader which was her daily morning ritual. Karin would like to be remembered for her exceptional sense of style and her devotion to her faith.

A Funeral Service will be held for Karin Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at 1pm at Hetherington & Deans Funeral Chapel, 5176 Victoria Avenue, Niagara Falls, (905-354-5614).
