MARTIN, Leo Norman (December 17, 1931- February 8, 2021) - Leo Martin, after a courageous battle with PSP, passed away peacefully at the age of 89. He will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Eda, together for 65 years, daughters Deborah (Slavko) Zelic and Sandra Martin, grandchildren Joseph Zelic and Jacqueline Zelic. Predeceased by his parents Florindo and Teresa Martin, his brothers Aldo (Flo), Gino (Anita), Dino, Eddie and his brother-in-laws Achille Paolin and Bruno Pietrobon. Leo is survived by his sister Lena Paolin and sister-in-laws Gloria Pietrobon and Lee Martin. He will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Leo was born and raised in Niagara Falls, Ontario and was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church. He was an owner of Martin’s Woodworking and Deb-San Homes. After retiring from home building at age 65, he was one of the first people hired at Casino Niagara where he spent the next 10 years. Family was priority in Leo’s life. He cherished the many family gatherings and spending quality time with his grandchildren. He loved baseball and the Blue Jays was his favourite team. In his younger years, Leo had the opportunity to tryout for a professional baseball team in Florida as a back catcher. He also sponsored a girls traveling baseball team, which he was very proud of. Dinner and dancing at the Glenview Social Club and the Croatian Club kept Leo with his dancing shoes polished and always ready for the next event. Your inspiring words 'Keep the Faith' will always be remembered, Dad. We love you forever and a day! Thank you to the staff at Millennium Trail Manor for their care and compassion. Because of COVID-19 restrictions, a private family service and interment will be held at a later date. If desired, in Leo’s memory, donations to The Niagara Health Foundation would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME, 6062 Main St. Niagara Falls. Online condolences at pattersonfuneralhome.com
