It is with the deepest sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be missed by her husband of 67 years, John Gualtieri and her children, Tonina (Salvino), Linda, and Anna (Mark). Also, left to grieve her are her pride and joy, her grandchildren, Alexandria, Kassandra, John (Dayle), Gloria, Eve and Lucas. Also survived by her sister Eufemia Sciavilla, and sister in law, Maria Gualtieri (Phil) and many nieces and nephews whom she loved. Predeceased by her many family members, now reunited for eternity, her first born daughter Michelina, her grandson Lucas, parents Geraldo and Rosina Renna, brother, Antonio Renna, her sisters Antoinetta Bertocchi, Maria Elia, Angelina Catapano and brothers-in-law. Brother-in-law Frank Gualtieri, and mother and father-in-law, Michelina and Raffaele Gualtieri.
Linda came to Canada from Italy, from the small town of Castelnuovo di Conza, at the young age of nineteen, following her sisters to Canada. She eventually met her husband, and they built a home and family that was rooted in faith and love.
She was the heart of our family and a true reflection of selflessness, devotion, and love. Her world revolved around those she loved, and she gave of herself endlessly, never asking for anything in return. Every word and every action, she made us feel seen, valued, and deeply loved. An example of her expression of love was through the tradition of Sunday meals, bringing her family together week after week.
She was a woman who practiced a strong faith and knew that once life was over, there was promise of everlasting life in heaven. Whether through quiet acts of care, or simply her steady presence, her strength was always present. Her kindness extended beyond her family, touching the lives of everyone she knew. Above all, she was a mother and wife who lived for her family. Her greatest joy was in our happiness. She knew unimaginable pain when she lost her daughter in 2014. Though our hearts are heavy with pain and loss, we take comfort in knowing that she has been reunited with her daughter Michelina, nevermore to be separated. She would say don’t cry for me when I die as I will be with Michelina. Unfortunately, we will not be able to uphold that request. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Family was her world and she was the world to her family.
