She was born to the late Lloyd and Elda Swayze at the Grimsby Hospital on November 5th, 1958. She was the second youngest to her six other siblings. While most of her life was spent in Niagara Falls, she also has lived in Beamsville, Sherkston and Welland.
Lorraine will be incredibly missed by her three children: April Benner (Aaron) of Hamilton; Cassandra Caverly (Gerald) of Niagara Falls; and Craig Caverly (Chasity) of Niagara Falls. She will also be missed by her 12 grandchildren and her friend and companion Paul Taylor.
Lorraine was a person who loved with all her heart and was not afraid to show it. She was also a caregiver and would be the first person to help someone who was in need. She proudly talked about her kids and would bring out her phone to show off pictures of them. She was an even prouder Nanna of all of her grandchildren. You knew, if you were on the phone with her, it would be a long conversation, but she would always say at the end “Give my love and a hug to ______” and would go through all the members in the family. Lorraine would always make a room smile with her unique laugh, and her delayed scream from the popping of a balloon.
As per our moms wishes, she has been cremated. Family and friends will be received on Friday, September 15, 2023 from 12 - 1 p.m. at Hetherington and Deans Funeral Chapel. A Memorial Service will be held in the chapel at 1 p.m. with burial to follow. We hope you are able to join us. Please consider sharing a story or memory of Lorraine below for the family.
