

BRIDEAU, Mae Frances (nee Jones) – Surrounded by her loving family, Mae passed away at the Greater Niagara General Hospital at the age of 76 on May 8th, 2012. She will be loved and missed by her son Dan Brideau, her daughter Debbie George, son-in-law Jim George and her only granddaughter Amanda George, all of Niagara Falls. She is survived by her sisters Jean (and the late Jim) Dodd, Niagara Falls; Dorothy (and the late Gerald) Bingham, Charleston, Illinois; sisters in law Freda (and the late Arnold ) Provencher, and Kate (and the late Gerald) Brideau. Mae is predeceased by her parents Daisy and Oliver Jones, brothers Ken Jones and Doug Jones, sister Marguerite Stevens and a Great-great nephew. She was the cherished aunt of Darlene Ritchie, Jim Stevens, Natasha Provencher, David Brideau, Cheryl and David White, and Lynn Welsh, as well as many other nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews. Life long friend of Joan & Roger St. Amour, Julie Whitsitt, and so many others. She was also a close friend and Ma to Nancy (and Gilbert) Michaud. Mae had a heart bigger than the world and had many good friends and family members with whom she chose to share her exceptional life. She was always there for those who needed her and helped to bring out the best in everyone around her.
Mae retired from the GNGH switchboard, and for many years was a beloved foster mother to those in need - some of whose recent visits touched her greatly. She will be sadly missed and always carried in our hearts. Mom/Grandma, rest in peace. You are free from pain now and with your loved ones in heaven. Please remember those of us still here, as one day our family chain will be linked again. Until we meet again, know that we will love and cherish you more than anyone can imagine, and we will always carry you in our hearts wherever we go.
Friends are invited to call at HETHERINGTON & DEANS FUNERAL CHAPEL, Victoria Ave. On Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Vigil to be held Thursday at 3:30pm at the Funeral Chapel. Funeral Mass to be held at Our Lady of Scapular Church, 6557 Thorold Stone Rd. Friday May 11 at 10:00 a.m. Rite of Committal to take place at Fairview Cemetery.
