Marion Nelson Herchmer

Passed away peacefully, surrounded by her daughter and friends at Bella Senior Care on Thurs Nov 16, 2017. Predeceased by her husband William (Bill) Herchmer (1983). Survived by her daughters Sandy Sharpe of St. Thomas, ON and Janice Herchmer of Niagara Falls; grandchildren Michelle Sharpe and Spencer Sharpe and great-grandson Evan Sharpe, all of St. Thomas. Predeceased by her son-in-law Lee Sharpe (2008).

Born in Niagara Falls, NY, Marion immigrated to Canada with her family as a young teenager. Through Bill’s work, the family lived in Toronto; Edmonton, AB; London, ON; and Niagara Falls, ON. While in Toronto, Marion worked as Supervisor at the Toronto Credit Bureau and as a loan officer at the Bank of Nova Scotia.

Marion will be remembered for her caring nature as a volunteer (Brownie leader, Past-President of Niagara Falls Volunteer Board and 20 years as a Palliative Care volunteer with GNGH.) She was a member of the Canadian Naval Association and St. Andrew’s United Church.

Family and friends may pay their respects at Hetherington & Deans Funeral Chapel, 5176 Victoria Ave, Niagara Falls, ON on Mon Nov 20, 2017 from 10 – 11 a.m. Funeral Service will take place in the Chapel at 11 a.m., followed by interment at Fairview Cemetery.
