Michele 'Mike' Cassano

CASSANO, Michele "Mike" - Passed away peacefully at Eventide Home on Friday January 6, 2017 at the age of 90. Beloved husband of the late Assunta "Susie" Cassano (2000). Dearly loved father of Rosalia (Stephen) Butz, Chiarina (Greg) Verre, Tina (Terry) Holub and Don (Caroline Larose) Cassano. Cherished Nonno of Alex (Heather), Adam and Nathan Butz, Alyssa and Brianna Verre, Daniel and Rachel Ianniello, Stephanie, Matthew and Andrew Holub and Justin Cassano. He will be sadly missed by his cousins Peter Giura (the late Filomena) and Franca Giura (the late Saverio) and by his many friends and family in Canada and Italy. Mr. Cassano had worked for many years as a painter with Giura Brothers before retiring from Hayes-Dana. His greatest passion in life was his family, especially his grandchildren, and he took great pride in sharing the fruits of his garden. He was also a devout member of Stamford Lane United Church. Friends are invited to call at the PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME, 6062 Main St. visiting Friday January 13th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service in celebration of his life will be held on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Stamford Lane United Church. Entombment will follow at Fairview Mausoleum. In memory of Mr. Cassano donations to Niagara Community Outreach (Out of the Cold) or Stamford Lane United Church would be appreciated by his family.
