Patricia Louise DeFazio

Passed away surrounded by her loving family at the Henderson Hospital – Juravinski Centre on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at the age of 62. Survived by her loving daughter Paula DeFazio, and her son Michael DeFazio. Sadly missed by her sisters Lillian Lavender (The late George), Edith Portolesi (The late Berny), Dorothy Carter, Kathleen Murray, and Kathy’s son James, and by her brother-in-law George Jackson. Fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, and friends. Predeceased by her mother Marguerite Leakey and father Gordon (Ted) Leakey, and by her sisters Mary Chapman (Tom), and Joanne Jackson. Patricia was Registered Nurse working at St. Joseph’s Community Health Care in Stoney Creek on King Street for many years. Her family wishes to thank the Nurses in I.C.C.U. at Henderson Hospital - Juravinski Centre , the Doctors and Staff, and a special thank you to Dr. Hotte and his nurse Maryann for their excellent and compassionate care.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation will take place. Family and friends will be received at Hetherington & Deans Funeral Chapel, 5176 Victoria Avenue on Monday evening, August 1, 2016 from 7 – 9 PM, as well as from 10AM – 11:45 AM on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 followed by a service in her memory at Christ Church, 4750 Zimmerman Avenue at 12 Noon. Interment to follow in Fairview Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to Wellspring Niagara would be appreciated.
