A June baby, Pyper was a ray of sunshine for all of us. She was a sensitive soul who cared deeply for animals, especially her dog (Jasper), cat (Beamer), horses, (Conan and Kiya) and pet rabbit (Milo).
She recently said, “When I grow up, I already know what I want to do – work with animals.” Every day she had a visit with their two horses, chatting with them and grooming them. She rode at least three times a week with her mom. It was their special time together when they connected with one another and with the natural world. Their spirits replenished.
Pyper attended elementary school in Strathroy, Cochrane and Dryden. She was proud of her ability to speak French and was naturally athletic like her older sister Zoe and both of her parents. She had already participated in a horse show.
Active in team sports, she enjoyed volleyball and soccer but she excelled at figure skating. Her recent solo in the Dryden skating show was beautiful and showcased her natural ability.
Pyper was very well liked for her pleasant, happy, easy-going nature except when it came to eating certain vegetables and no amount of cajoling or bribery or threats made a bit of difference. When she made up her mind, that was it.
Pyper was growing in confidence and skill, both athletically and academically and despite being the baby sister could hold her own in the family and at school.
Pyper was deeply loved and will live in our hearts forever blond ponytail flying, strong legs pumping, racing across the ice to catch up with a friend, full of the joy of living.
