Richard "Dick" Verburg

Peacefully passed away in his sleep at GNGH on Saturday, January 15, 2022, after a valiant fight with Covid-19, at the age of 84. Beloved husband for 54 yrs of Margaret Verburg. Loving father to Tonia (and Dave), Tammy (and Richard), Diana (and Scott), and Jan Dirk. Cherished grandfather to Jesse (and Sarah), Gabriel (and Jacqueline), Grace, Noah, Sophia, Micah, Ethan, Luke, Maria, Hannah, Kathryn, Elizabeth, and Jamieson. Great-grandfather to Emilia and Ezra. Predeceased by grand-daughter Noel, brother Ricky and sister Mary. He was the oldest brother to Cobie, Kees, Eddy, John, Peter, Toni, and Ron and will be remembered fondly.

Dick loved his family, the outdoors, collecting stamps, and woodworking. He was an active, lifelong member of Rehoboth (Faith Fellowship) Christian Reformed Church in Niagara Falls and will be missed .

A special thanks to the doctors and nurses of GNGH for their care and compassion in his final hours.

In keeping with Dirks wishes, cremation has taken place and was entrusted to Hetherington & Deans Funeral Chapel. A private Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel by invitation only, on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at 11 a.m. The service will be livestreamed and the direct link is below.
