Robert Van McKay

 McKAY, Robert Van (Pentland) - Passed away peacefully at his residence on Thursday July 3, 2025 at the age of 69.  Beloved father of Will Pentland and the late Sam Pentland (2023).  Loving brother of Brenda (Frank) Ariggnello and Mike (Anita) Pentland.  Robert is survived by his uncle Cleveland (Muriel) Pentland , dear friend and mother of Will and Sam, Dianne Cunningham. He will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Robert and Della Pentland, siblings Mark (Roseanne) Pentland and Wendy Shriver. Robert worked for General Motors for 30 years until his retirement. He was friendly beyond words, he could strike up a conversation with just about anyone and about anything. If you were a stranger on the street, a regular at the coffee shop or someone sitting alone at Boston Pizza, if he saw you he would talk to you and by the end of it, you would be smiling. He was the kind of person you could count on, steady, consistent and predictable in the best way. Music was in his soul, whether he was strumming a guitar or playing his harmonica, he lit up when he played and he loved his Harley Davidson. He will be deeply missed by all his friends at the various coffee shops in Niagara Falls and Boston Pizza on Morrison Street. Friends are invited to join the family at the PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME, 6062 Main St. Niagara Falls, visiting Saturday July 12, 2025 from 11am to 2 pm. Interment will follow at Lundy Lane Cemetery.
