With heavy hearts, we share the loss of a deeply loved husband, devoted and cherished father of eight, and a kind, gentle soul who meant so much to so many. Vittorio Petrella passed away peacefully on May 18, 2026, at the age of 95, surrounded by his loving family.
He is predeceased by his loving wife Carmela as well as his sisters, Giuseppina, Candida and Giovanna. Vittorio is lovingly remembered by his children, Silvana (Antonio), Luciana (Roberto), Marcello (Josie), John (Sandra), Adriana (Davide), Teresa, Stephanie (David), Kathie as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren. Vittorio will be missed by his brothers John and Angelo as well as many nieces, nephews and relatives both in Canada and Italy.
His life was rooted in faith, love, and family. A devoted Catholic, he lived each day with quiet strength, compassion, and a deep sense of purpose. His greatest joy was his family, and he leaves behind his remarkable children who were the pride of his life and the reflection of his love, who carry forward his kindness, guidance and values.
He found peace in tending to his garden and joy in his passion for music. A gifted saxophone player since his teenage years, his music brought warmth and happiness to many.
He will be forever missed, lovingly remembered, and always carried in the hearts of his family and all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Forever in our hearts, he will remain our guiding light, our inspiration, and our beloved.
“His song may be finished here, but its melody will live on in our hearts forever.”
We would like to thank Eventide Home and Dr McGarry for their care and compassion.
Visitation will be held at Patterson Funeral Home Ltd., 6062 Main St. Niagara Falls, ON, on Sunday, May 24, 2026, from 5-8PM. Vigil Prayers at 7:00PM.
