Zoe advanced quickly, easily mastering walking, talking and other basic skills. People often thought she was older than her years. Zoe grew into a hardworking, creative soul like her mother.
Unafraid to try new things, she was on skates at 2 years old, walking at first across the rink but soon getting the hang of it. She progressed through many skating levels and eventually became a teacher of several classes a week in Cochrane. Zoe studied the soccer rules and eventually qualified as a referee. She was excited to be helping out as the league got started and to earn her first pay cheque.
Zoe was a natural leader who excelled at anything she put her mind to. Responsibility did not scare her and others sensed her confidence in her abilities. Zoe was the master of ceremonies at a show featuring students and teachers at her French School in Cochrane and did an amazing job. Creative, Zoe conquered the arts and crafts for her age group and moved on to new skills. Her wood working in first year of high school looked professional.
Just like her mother, cooking and baking were areas where Zoe expressed her creative side. She experimented with loads of new recipes and we all loved her treats.
Zoe was goal oriented and a high achiever at school with exceptional critical thinking skills confirmed in her most recent report card prompting her mother to say, “This kid is amazing!” She was on the honour roll and hated missing school.
A typical teenager, Zoe loved music and following the pop star, Taylor Swift. After Taylgate 2024, Zoe made plans to go to the next Taylor Swift show with her Mom, Aunt Amy, Pyper and her cousins.
Generous to a fault, Zoe treated all her cousins at a recent reunion to cake pops, snacks and ice cream but she was careful because she was saving her money to go on a school trip to Greece in 2027. Zoe talked about it a lot and was beyond excited to be accepted to go on this trip.
An enthusiastic volunteer in the community for the library, Agricultural Society (Junior Board Member) and junior hockey she entered the working world as a soccer referee, spent a summer babysitting, and was recently employed at the City of Dryden Pool and Fitness Centre. Each of her jobs taught her new skills and helped her formulate ideas about a future career.
Zoe was a very loving daughter, granddaughter, sister, cousin and friend. Pyper was her closest friend, and biggest supporter - sibling rivalry and all. Zoe will live in our hearts forever.
