She learned to ski in the Italian Alps and was the winning quarterback for her Powder Puff football team. She was a traveling square dancer in Georgia and co-captain of the Jackie Kay, a boat she shared with her husband Paul in Niantic, Connecticut. Everywhere Jackie went, she made friends – many of her dearest friendships spanned several decades. Jackie took her role as Nana very seriously and cherished spending quality time with each of her grandchildren. She was an incredibly supportive friend, wife, mother, and grandmother. Her trademark smile and contagious laugh will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Jackie and her husband Paul split their time between their homes in Connecticut, where they were surrounded by family, and Florida where they enjoyed the sunshine, beaches, outdoor activities, and dear friends. She was a member of Centerpointe Church in Palm Bay, Florida and Flanders Baptist and Community Church in East Lyme, Connecticut where she sang in the choir. She was a woman of very strong faith and an avid lover of music. Calling Hours will be held on Wednesday, September 15 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Fulton-Theroux Funeral Home, 13 Lake Ave, Niantic, CT. We are truly saddened to hear of Jackie and Paul's passing. We will always remember them and miss them dearly. The optimism and joyfulness in their hearts was always something I've admired. I can still hear Jackie's laugh as it is very hard to forget! May they both rest in peace and their memory to continue on with their pride and joy: their family. They were always so proud and excited for upcoming adventures with "the kids". We'll miss you dearly.

I will always remember Jackie as being a happy loving person. I know she was so proud of her kids and I know she was a great Mom as we all used to go to church together in Norwich. God bless you and comfort you until you see her again. Love and hugs to you guys.

Paul was a lifetime friend of mine, our families were very close friends.
As is common life goes on and you lose touch with each other.
Since Paul passed recently and Jackie wasn't far behind him I'm reminded of a special time a number of years ago when Paul & I were together. He said to me "Jackie & I are getting married and I want you to come to our wedding." I was thrilled that he wanted me to be there and I did attend.
Paul & Jackie had a wonderful life together, 14 beautiful years.
It's so hard to think that they are both gone now!
Im truly sorry for your loss, Jackie was a sweetheart. Life is fragile and as you get older you realize that more and more.
My Sincerest Sympathy to you all, Colleen Pinckney

I met Jackie at J.B.Gates Correctional Center. She was always Gracious, Kind, Upbeat and had the most contagious Smile everyone talks about.
For many years Jackie supported me with kind words, inspiration books and guidance in my time of need.

My deepest condolences to Jackie’s family and friends. She truly was a bright light that was extinguished too soon. I worked briefly with Jackie at Corrigan first when she was a officer and then again when she was an Addiction Services Counselor. What I loved best about her was that she was kind and positive but no push over. She had a very big personality that was always so sunny and fierce. It was so nice meeting her love Paul later in Florida. She was so happy with her life. I am so sorry that she and Paul couldn’t stay with us longer.
