

Mr. Iacono “Sal” was born on May 20, 1944 in Rockville Center, NY, the son of Vincent and Antonette (Giordono) Iacono.
Sal was drafted into the Army in 1965 and served for 2 years in the Vietnam War. Sal worked for more than 30 years for NYTEL/Verizon, working in New York City, in the Finance Department. Sal enjoyed spending his retirement with the love of his life, Nancy, and being with his many friends and family. He loved sports, especially the NY Giants and Yankees, he loved to travel, cook, socialize, volunteer at the Senior Center, and serve as treasurer of the board within his condo association. Sal was kind, funny, charismatic, and a friend to ALL. He had a genuine interest in people, sincere love for his family and friends, was a great storyteller, and always had a warm smile or hearty laugh. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him and loved him.
Mr. Iacono is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Nancy; two sons, Matthew and Thomas (Dana) Iacono; two sisters Louise (Raymond) and Teresa; 3 stepchildren, Kelly (James) Keravich, Kristin (Mark) Leopoldino, and Jason Hughes; grandchildren Isla, Cameron, Morgan, and Avery; along with many nieces and nephews.
To honor Mr. Iacono’s wishes, there will be no services. There will be a Celebration of Life held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Team Avery and sent to Community Foundation of Middlesex County, 49 Main Street Middletown CT 06457, (860) 347-0025.
