Bridgette Lynne Grommes-Workman was born on May 14, 1973 in Aurora, Illinois. She was called to go home to the Lord on Sunday, August 20, 2023. She was an incredibly hard worker, the best mom, the best friend, and everyone’s cheerleader. She loved every single person she met as if they were her own family.
Bridgette dearly loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed traveling with her boyfriend (Kyung), listening to music, and most of all spending time with her daughter. Her immeasurable love for her beautiful daughter Ali is never ending as she supported all her life’s passions traveling to countless dance competitions, festivals, and even enjoyed volunteering at the Down Syndrome Association of Greater New Orleans’ Buddy Walk. She was a loving and devoted sister. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She touched countless people’s lives as she fulfilled a lifelong career as a Radiologic Technologist spanning over twenty years. She also served as a clinical instructor for Delgado’s Radiologic Technology program. She was a very outgoing, active amongst her peers and mentored innumerable students.
Bridgette is survived by her daughter, Alexandra M. Workman, mother, Sharon Hudson, father, Patrick Grommes (Kathy), and siblings, Brittanni Bundren (Randy), Karmyn Portillo (Oscar), Keith Grommes (Laurie), Krystal Hudson, and Alisha Grommes. She is also survived by many cousins, aunts, uncles, and nephews, whom she loved dearly and whom will ever be better for her incredible and all too short presence in their lives.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 25, 2023 at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd. Metairie, LA. Visitation will be held from 4 PM-6:30 PM with a prayer service to begin at 6:30 PM.
