Doris Granier Waguespack

Doris Granier Waguespack, born January 6, 1936, entered into eternal rest on January 25, 2025, at the age of 89. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years James “Deebie” Waguespack, Sr. She is survived by her children, Pamela R. Hymel (Jerry), Dwayne Roberts (Donna), Lynnette W. Benedic (Oren), James A. Waguespack, Jr., (Lynda) and Beth R. Creed (Gary). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jeremy P. Hymel (Danielle), Lindsay R. Williams (Shane), Shawn Roberts (Sarah), Melody B. Walsh (Brandon), Stephanie B. Worth (Chad), Alli Waguespack, Jay Waguespack, Mallory C. Jordan (Matthew), Jordan Creed, and great grandchildren, Bella and Ryland Hymel, Kalee, Anna, Kolton, and Kai Williams, Beau, Rogan, and Sawyer Roberts, Bailey and Hadley Worth.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Edmund F. Granier and Lucille T. Granier, and her siblings, Lionel J. Granier, Sr. and Lois Soniat.

Doris will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved shopping Saturdays with her daughters and traveling with her husband and family. She was a devoted Catholic and was an adorer at St. Charles Borromeo Perpetual Adoration Chapel for 22 years and volunteered in the church rectory on Mondays.

The family would like to thank Norma Lasseigne, Donna Funderburk, Mary Rizzo, Gwendolyn Garner, Stacy Murray, and Heart of Hospice, especially her nurse, Kristyn Palmisano as well as many other caregivers throughout this time for their care and compassion to our mother and family.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 13396 River Rd. Destrehan, LA on Friday, January 31, 2025, beginning at 10AM. Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 12PM. Burial to follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Masses preferred.
