George "Jeff" Andry

George “Jeff’" Andry passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2015. He was a longtime resident of Norco, LA where he spent many years with his loving wife of 63 years Peggy Champagne Andry. He is survived by his children Trudy Mahar, Deacon Malcolm Andry(Ellen), Georgia Knight and Jeffrey Andry(Angie); his grandchildren Gregory and Nicholas Knight, Lori Andry, Amy Cobb(Chris), Christopher and Nicole Andry; his great grandchildren Landon, Aubrey, Mason and Zane and his siblings Julie Mitchell, Betty Melancon, Ethel McLeod, Helen Andry, Donna Torres and Jules Andry. He is preceded in death by his parents Louis “Pete” and Georgina Madere Andry, his son-in-law Larry Mahar, his siblings Cecile Martin, Edna Carmouche and Warren Andry.

Jeff was a member of the American Legion Spillway Post 195, Knights of Columbus Red Church Council 3634, VFW Post 4030, Sacred Heart Yard Boys and Scout Master Troop 319, where he impacted the lives of many. He was the recipient of the St. George Award and the Norco Civic Achievement Award. He was the proud Grand Marshall of Norco Christmas Parade in 2003 and received the French Legion of Honor Award for service during WWII.

Jeff enjoyed reading, gardening, woodworking and spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

The family would like to thank Journey Hospice, especially Allison and Janet, for their care and compassion throughout this time. A special thanks to his caregivers Brandie, Karen, Carolyn and Kendra.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a night wake at H. C. Alexander Funeral Home, 821 Fourth St. Norco, LA 70079 on Friday, September 18, 2015 from 6PM till 9PM. Visitation will continue on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Norco, LA from 9AM till the time of Mass at 11AM.
