

Henry “Happy” Hoffman, Jr., age 99 years, died peacefully Saturday, November 28, 2015. He was born December 26, 1915 and was raised in New Orleans. He was a longtime resident of Luling, LA. Beloved husband of the late Melba A. Hoffman and the late Myrtle D. Hoffman. He is survived by his daughters, Patsy (Syl) Caillet and Sue (George) Triche. Also survived by his grandchildren, Brian (Dionne) Smith, Greg Smith, and Leslie (Errol) King. His great-grandchildren are Mallory King, Adeline Eubanks, and Brennan Smith. Henry was a graduate of Fortier High School and LSU in Mechanical Engineering. He was a member of the LSU Band. He was also a Shriner for 62 years. Henry was retired from Exxon where he worked as a Petroleum Engineer and also retired as District Manager of the LA Conservation Department in Houma, LA.
Among his many social activities, he enjoyed golfing, handmade creative arts, and activities at Willowdale Country Club. He was also a faithful member of the Luling United Methodist Church.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a celebration of life at New Life Community Church, 134 Lakewood Dr., Luling, LA on Tuesday, December 1, 2015. Visitation will begin at 9:30AM with services beginning at 11:00AM. Interment will follow in Metairie Cemetery, New Orleans, LA.
