James Michael Rudd Sr.

The Family of James Michael Rudd sadly announces his passing. He died peacefully at home in his sleep on March 24, 2025, at the age of 85. Michael was born on January 4, 1940, in San Antonio TX to James M. and Florence Duecy Rudd. He was married to Karen Aiple Rudd for 53 years.

He was preceded in death by James M. and Florence Rudd.

He is survived by his wife Karen Rudd, sons Victor M., Jeffrey F. and David M. Rudd, grandson Austin M. Rudd, daughter in laws Janet Rudd, Dawn Rudd and Michelle Agosto, sister-in-law Susan Attaway, brother-in-law Charles Attaway, niece Nicole Brouillette, (Randy, Andrew, Amanda), nephew Jonathan Attaway (Jess, Alexandra, Elijah).

As a child, Mike moved to New Orleans, and later married Karen Rudd. He is a veteran of the Airforce, served overseas, and proudly worked on the Apollo 11 Mission. For 35 years he was the General Superintendent of Marine Industrial Cable and also was co-owner of Optech Company. Having attended LSU, he was a staunch Tigers fan and fortunate to witness all of their Football championships. Mike was a huge military and history buff and often visited the National WWII Museum.

Private services will be held at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Destrehan.
