Nelda Mae Lorio Mauduit

Nelda Mae Lorio Mauduit, a resident of Norco, LA, passed away February 23, 2017. Born April 10, 1933 in Hahnville, LA. She joins her loving husband, Ollie Mauduit in Heaven. She is survived by her children Dr. Kent Mauduit (Robin), Barbara Kenney (Kelvin), Steve Mauduit (Belinda), and Loren Mauduit (Melissa). Grandchildren Meredith and Matthew Mauduit, Steven and Kristen Kenney, Misty Dufrene, M’Lynn, Hannah, and Emily Mauduit, and one great grandson, Liam Mauduit Paz. She is also survived by her sisters Ophelia Knox, Alice Perez, and Mary Lee Ockman.

She is preceded in death by her daughter, Denise Theresa Mauduit, and her parents Merrille and Alma Laurent Lorio, brothers Harold, Wallace, and Randolph Lorio and sisters Nola Lorio Autin and Sybil Plaisance.

Mrs. Nelda was a retired Paraeducator for St. Charles Parish Schools, a member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Ladies Alter Society, and Norco Homemakers Club. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother whose many talents included gardening, sewing, and creating other crafts. She enjoyed cooking for family events and hosting gatherings. She was passionate about caring for others, contributing her time and talents to her neighbors and community.

The family wishes to thank her sitters Wanda Borne and Nan McNeil for their compassion and care.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Norco, LA on Monday, February 27, 2017 beginning at 9:30 AM.
