For 93 years our world was blessed by the life of Peggy Marie Adams Howes. To know her was to experience her love of family, her faith, and her warm & welcoming smile.
Peggy was born on October 17, 1932 in Chackbay and passed peacefully at her home in Luling, on Wednesday, January 7, 2026. Her beloved parents were the late Eddie and Ethel Peltier Adams.
She was married for 68 years to her devoted husband Joseph E. Howes who preceded Peggy in death.
Peggy is Survived by her children; Sharon Howes, Wade (Peggy) Howes, June (Doug) Pitchford, Billy (Theresa) Howes, and Regina (Norbert) Allemand. Siblings; Darrell (Shirley), Kelly and Ted (Byerl) Adams, Annette Annison and Helen Muller. Grandchildren; Bryan (Ellen) Howes, Brad Howes, Bruce (Marcy) Howes, Katie (Kevin) Jacobson, Brian Dufrene, Bart Howes, Glenn (Kristen) Howes, Beth (Stephen)Lirette, Matthew (Kelly) Allemand, Tina (Jeremy) Nelson, and Andrew (Jessica) Allemand. Great Grandchildren; Ciara (Bryce) Riggs, Cullen, Samantha, Brianna, Brennon, Emily, Shelby, Kolby, Brayden, Alexis, Elizabeth, and Joseph Howes, Alyssa France, Connor and Gracin Lirette, Paxton and Noah Nelson, Parker and Logan Jacobson, Mila and Elliana Dufrene. Great-Great Grandchildren; Eastin, Emersyn and Karsyn Riggs. Honorary daughter, Tara Hunter
Preceded in Death by Siblings; Elson, Hulen, Vincent, Vesta Adams and Rowena A. Mitchell. Son-in-Law; Dean Hagen and Great Grandson Logan Howes.
Special Acknowledgments to her Loving sitters, often referred to as the M&M&M – Mickie Champagne, Misty Meyer and Monique Territa. Each brought much happiness and love to Momma Peggy, with endless conversations, games, exercise and crafts.
Despite Peggy’s declining mobility and health over the last few years, she ALWAYS maintained her sense of humor. Kindness, compassion, love, and joy were her other trademark qualities.
A time of gathering will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 155 Holy Family Lane in Luling. Visitation begins at 9 a.m., the Rosary will be recited starting at 9:45 a.m., resuming visitation until 10:45 when Words of Remembrance are spoken, followed by Holy Mass at 11 a.m.
In honor of Peggy's generous spirit and the love she held for her faith, Masses and/or donations to the Holy Family Building and Maintenance fund are requested in lieu of flowers.
Peggy’s life was an inspiration to all who knew her. She taught us what it means to live with grace, to love without limits, and to cherish every moment.
Interment at St. Charles Mausoleum, a Repass will follow at Holy Family Parish Center.
