Ralph John Schexnaydre

Ralph John Schexnaydre passed away at his home on January 24, 2024 at the age of 93. He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Shirley Simon Schexnaydre. His children, Ralph Schexnaydre, Jr., Barry Schexnaydre, Susan S. Wright (Marty), and Scott Schexnaydre (Shawn). Grandchildren, Ryan Schexnaydre, Jake Schexnaydre (Stacy), Katya Schexnaydre, Bret Schexnaydre (Jenna), William Wright (Mary), Sara Schexnaydre, and Maci Schexnaydre. He is also survived by his great- grandchildren, Camryn, Harper, Bale, Anastassia, and Crew, and his siblings, Bernadine Duhon and Albert Schexnaydre, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and family members.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Nicholas and Melanie Schexnaydre and his siblings, Ethel Tramonte (Steve), Oswald Schexnaydre (Emma), Roland Schexnaydre (Helen), and Huey Schexnaydre (Jeanette).

Ralph retired from St. Charles Parish Waterworks after over 30 years of dedicated service. He was an active member of the Louisiana Wildfowl Carvers and Collectors Guild and he loved to hunt and fish.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mr. Ralph’s services on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Destrehan, LA. Visitation will begin at 9:15AM with Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 11AM. Burial to follow in the church cemetery with military honors.
