

Shirley Mae Troxler Barre, 91, of Hahnville, Louisiana passed away at her home on March 31, 2026. She was born April 16, 1934, in Hahnville, Louisiana to parents Oliver Troxler, Sr., and Consuelo Keller Troxler. She graduated from Hahnville High School in the class of 1952. Shirley would go on to marry the love of her life, the late Jerry “Bat” Martin Barre, together they shared almost 66 years of marriage.
Shirley is survived by her loving children, Shirlyn Fahrig (Jonathan), Kyle Barre (Lena), Darren Barre (Angela), and Wendy Colomb (Robert, Sr.). Devoted grandmother to Brooke Grasperge (Britton), Kali Davis (George), Cameron Fahrig (Nicole), Alex Barre, Amye Barre, Paige Barre, Lucy Barre, Allyson Colomb, Caroline Colomb, and Robert Colomb, Jr. Shirley was also the proud great-grandmother to Talon Grasperge, Olivia Grasperge, Addison Jourdain, Ryanne “Petunia” Davis, Magnolia Barre, Elijah Barre, Reese Fahrig, and one on the way, Isabelle Fahrig. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and family members.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jerry “Bat” Barre, her parents Oliver and Consuelo Troxler; siblings Joyce Kelly, Vance Troxler, Elaine Foret, Mona Gassen, Oliver Troxler, Jr., and one godchild Janell Troxler.
Shirley was an avid fan of any sports or activities that her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren participated in. Her true passion was her family. She loved to be surrounded by her grand and great-grandchildren and enjoyed gatherings with family.
The family would like to thank her wonderful caregivers, Cindy, Amy, Judy, Trinity, and Lisa for all their compassion during this time.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 13, 2026, at 9AM followed by Mass at 11AM all at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church- 1 Rectory Lane Hahnville, LA. Burial will take place at Holy Rosary Cemetery on River Rd. In Taft, LA.
