

Thomas "Tommy" Barreca, Jr., 72, of Norco, Louisiana, passed away on January 5, 2024. He was born on May 19, 1951, in New Orleans, Louisiana. Tommy is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Mary Denise Braud Barreca; his daughter, Jaclyn Barreca Dearie (Shawn); his grandchildren, Cooper and Aubrey Dearie; his sisters, Ida and Frances Barreca; his mother-in-law, Janet Decoteau Braud; as well as numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Tommy was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Barreca; his mother, Frances McKnight Barreca; his brothers, Salvador, Emile, and Emmett Barreca; his sister, Clara Barreca Perret; and his father-in-law, Kermit Braud.
Tommy was a graduate of St. Charles Borromeo High School and attended Nicholls State University. He was a former St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Deputy. He was a retired Operations Maintenance Coordinator and served on the Emergency Response Team at Shell Oil in Norco. Additionally, Tommy was a retired fire chief of the Norco Area Volunteer Fire Department and was a former president of the St. Charles Parish Fireman's Association. He also held the position of vice president of the St. Charles Parish 911 Commission.
Tommy was a devoted member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Norco, Louisiana.
In his free time, Tommy enjoyed fishing, finding peace and joy in the great outdoors.
Tommy’s family extends heartfelt gratitude to the numerous family members, friends, and neighbors that have been so caring and helpful.
Visitation will be held at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 401 Spruce Street in Norco, LA, on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 from 9:00A.M. until Mass of Christian Burial 11:00A.M. Interment will follow at St. Charles Borromeo Mausoleum, 13396 River Road, Destrehan, LA.
