Alejandra “Anda” Florendo, age 78, passed away peacefully at her home in Norfolk, Virginia. Born in Carigara, Philippines, Anda brought warmth, quiet strength, and deep generosity to everyone who knew her.
A passionate gardener and avid reader, Anda found joy in life’s simplest pleasures. She was affectionately known by many as Anda, a name that reflected her gentle spirit. But to one very special granddaughter, Lauren, she was proudly and lovingly known as Nana—a name that held deep meaning for them both. What truly set her apart was her boundless selflessness—known to give to others even when it meant going without herself. Her family and friends remember her as a woman of uncommon kindness and quiet grace.
Anda is survived by her beloved son Jay, cherished granddaughter Lauren, and ten devoted siblings: Filma, Toytoy, Villa, Bimboy, Camilla, Intoy, Yolly, Renato, Jasmin, and Jenelle. Her love and legacy will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
Family and friends are invited to honor her life at the following services:
• Wake: Tuesday, July 1, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM (Wake Liturgy at 6:30 PM)
• Funeral Mass: Wednesday, July 2, at 10:00 AM at St. Pius X Catholic Church
• Burial Service: Wednesday, July 2, at 12:00 PM at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens
Her generous spirit and loving heart leave a lasting imprint. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
