Barbara B. Wales, age 84, passed away peacefully Tuesday, November 28, 2017 in Norfolk General Hospital. Barbara was born in Norfolk and raised her family in the Bellamy Manor section of Kempsville. She was a Christian and a member of Westwood Hill Baptist Church. She was a retired secretary for the City of Virginia Beach Comprehensive Mental Health. She was predeceased by her parents and her loving husband, Walter M. Wales.
Surviving her is one son, Walter "Randy" Wales and his wife, Jamie Lynn and a daughter, Carol Sleight and her husband, David, four grandchildren, Shaun Michael Wales, Teri M. Wales, Caroline Sleight and Maxwell Sleight; and 3 great grandchildren, Zayden, Zevin, and Raiden Locke, all of Virginia Beach. Barbara is also survived by her two loving cats.
The family will receive friends 6 PM to 8 PM Friday, December 1, 2017 at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk 23502 and where services to honor Barbara will be conducted at 1PM Saturday, December 2nd with Pastor Ronald W. Lee officiating.
