Catherine Elizabeth Snowberg

Catherine Elizabeth Snowberg, 87, went to be with the Lord on Friday January 30, 2026, while surrounded by her daughters and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Ruby Smelser Bowyer; her husband Bruce; and her granddaughter Jennifer.

Catherine was a lifelong member of Burrows Memorial Baptist Church in Norfolk, Virginia, where she faithfully attended Sunday school and church services on Sundays, family fun night once a month and other special events with other church members, who she was blessed to call family and friends. She also enjoyed watching game shows on television and doing word search puzzles, but her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, especially on holidays and other special occasions. When she was younger, she enjoyed crabbing from the Lynnhaven fishing pier, going to the Animal Safari in Natural Bridge, Virginia and taking a trip to Disney World with her children and grandchildren.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her daughters Rebecca Garcia(Mike)and Bonnie Griffin(Scott); son Jimmy Snowberg(Cynthia); grandchildren, Christina Swindell, Clay Cole and Jacob Griffin(Amanda); great grandchildren, Emilie Swindell, Shane Neigenfind, Olivia Griffin and Owen Griffin; great-great granddaughter Elizabeth Swindell-Ammons; sisters, Shirley Hawkins and Carolyn Couch; also nieces, nephews and a host of other family and friends.

The family invites friends to a time of visitation on Friday February 20, 2026 from 12-1 p.m. Her funeral service will begin at 1p.m. following the visitation time.
