Daisy made her transition into the loving arms of her heavenly father on Tuesday, March 20th. She was born on June 19, 1942 in Lane, South Carolina and raised in a loving household by Grace Prince. From a large family, she was the last of nine children. Shortly after her birth, the family sought greener pastures and migrated to New York City. In her youth, Daisy had a spirited passion for dance and talent enough to pursue her passion professionally. She graduated from George Washington High School and immediately after graduating; she was recruited and hired by the New York Telephone Company where she worked in varying capacities for 30 years. She was known as a very vocal and active union representative for her colleagues during her tenure there. After her retirement from New York Telephone, Daisy chose to expand her horizons by venturing into varying fields of interest. At her leisure, she worked as bus driver, and also held positions as a medical office assistant. She most recently worked for many years at Chesapeake General Hospital.
As she had a great love for people, one of her many ventures was as a home-based childcare service where she provided childcare for numerous families. She was affectionately known by all of the children as grandma Daisy. Her epic capacity to nurture, coupled with her outreach to people can only be described as a gift from God. This gift was cemented and solidified by her being a member and church mother to her spiritual family at Tabernacle of Prayer, under overseer Dr. Minnie B Washington.
Daisy had a genuine, captivating spirit that was unforgettable. Her personality was larger than life and as fiery as her red hair. She had a colorful way with words and when Daisy spoke you listened! Daisy was truly young at heart and not defined by her age. Her presence will be sorely missed by those who were blessed to know her, as she made everyone feel like family.
Daisy was preceded in death by her mother, and siblings. She leaves to morn her loving memory, her husband of 26 years Clifford Daniel, her children Janine McCormack (Dain), Rhonda Tedder (Donald), and Kara Moss (Mike). The apples of her eye, grandsons, Kristian Tedder, Daniel Kelly, Kameron Tedder, David McCormack, and a host of “special” grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She received the gift of unsurpassed care during her illness from Ron Dugger, goddaughter Diahann McFarlane, and nurse Tami Ndahi. Her transition into heavenly eternity was made more comfortable via the fruits of their labor.
