

Daphney Theresa Griffin Perry Sunrise Sunset October 30, 1942 January 17, 2018 Daphney Theresa Griffin Perry, also known as Pig, peacefully went to be with the Lord on January 17, 2018 at Chesapeake Health and Rehabilitation Center in Chesapeake, VA. Daphney was born in Norfolk, Virginia on October 30, 1942 to the late Lucille Emily and William Shelton Griffin, Sr. She is predeceased by her husband, Ivory L. Perry, and her brothers Benson C. Brown and William S. Griffin, Jr. Daphney graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 1961. She married Ivory (whom she had known since Middle School) on December 24, 1963. They moved to various places in New York City until they settled in the Bronx. From this union, their only child Ivy Daphney Perry was born. Daphney worked at various jobs in New York City until settling at NYS Bronx Criminal Court in 1989 as a Data Recording Assistant. After working for the State of New York for 15 years, Daphney decided to retire in 2005. During her retirement, she traveled but settled in Chesapeake, Virginia. Daphney leaves to cherish her memories her devoted daughter, Ivy Perry-Burrus, her dedicated son in law, Timothy Burrus, her granddaughter Caylah Simone Burrus of Bronx, NY, two sisters Regina Griffin Ducharme of Portsmouth, VA, and Sorota Griffin Johnson of Chesapeake, VA, one brother-in-law Mills E. Perry(Cordelia) of Norfolk, VA, one sister-in-law Thelma Brown of Norfolk, VA, one aunt Gwendolyn LaLa Lovely (Willie) of Chesapeake, VA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
