Donald Nelson Shoop, 68, passed away Monday, Jan. 20, 2014 at Sentara Leigh Memorial Hospital. A resident of Norfolk, Donald retired as an accomplished Auto Body Mechanic after 37 years with Norview Body Shop. He was active in Duck Pin Bowling, Country and Western Dancing at Fifth National Banque. He loved going to Nascar and Stock Car races with his best friends Ed and Maria Blair. Donald was predeceased by his mother Theodora Shoop.
Left to cherish his memory is his father, Welland “Doc” Shoop, a brother David Shoop and his wife Linda, two nephews Kristopher Shoop and Kenneth Shoop and his wife Susan.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan. 24 at 12 noon at Woodlawn Funeral Home Chapel, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk with Rev. David E. Martin officiating. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to be made to The United Cerebral Palsy Association or a charity of your choice. A private interment will be held in the Woodlawn Memorial Gardens following the service.
