Edna Jarvis 94, died February 29, 2024 at her home in Norfolk. Born 1929 in New Bern, NC, there she met her beloved husband J.C Jarvis. Enda became a military wife moving to Coronado, CA then back to the east coast where she had her children June and Douglas. In 1957 the family moved to Norfolk and in 1967 Edna and JC founded the “Fabric Hut” where she worked diligently for 40 years. She is known for her infectious laugh, quick wit and great sense of humor.
She is predeceased by her husband J.C. Jarvis and daughter June Jarvis Kirk. She is survived by her son Douglas A. Jarvis and his wife Gladys, her granddaughter Karen Kirk Nilan, her husband James and their children, her great grandchildren Gracie, William and Mary Dale, sisters Betty Hartman, Linda Salter, brother Bud Hines, several nieces and nephews. Edna dearly loved her family and was a loyal friend to many.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday March 7, 2024 at 1PM with a reception to follow at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk. She will be laid to rest with her husband at Albert G. Horton Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk, VA.
