Evelyn Ellis Outman

Evelyn Ellis Outman, 102, passed away on Sunday, September 1, 2024 in Chesapeake, VA. Evelyn was born in Suffolk, VA to the late William and Florrie Ellis. She is also predeceased by her husband, Jack Outman; daughter, Helen Heckman; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Hellen Ellis and her niece, Betty Ann Crabtree. Evelyn was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Such a selfless woman, she fostered many children to give them a brighter future. She prioritized her life taking care of her family. Evelyn was devoted to her Lord and Savior; she was a member of Tidewater Central Church of the Nazarene. In her spare time she loved visiting her family and friends and loved cooking.

She is cherished in memory by her son, Mark Outman and his wife, Susan; grandchildren, Matthew Outman and his wife, Alix, Morgan Brooke Outman, Jennifer Jerrigan, Jacqueline Graves and Jodi Pope; great granddaughter, Francesa Outman, nieces, Sandra Edwards and Scotty Stephenson; nephews, William T. Ellis and wife, Pam and Robert E. Ellis, Jr. The family would also like to deeply thank Darlene Howard for being a special friend who spent countless hours visiting and providing the special care, love and dedication for mom. Last but definitely not least, her devoted friend Diana Gorski for her love and support.

There will be a visitation from 5-7pm on Sunday, September 8, 2024 at Woodlawn Funeral Home. There will be a Celebration of Life on Monday, September 9, 2024 at Tidewater Central Church of the Nazarene starting at 1pm. Interment will immediately follow the services at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family welcomes everybody to fellowship at a reception held in the church reception hall following the burial.
