Helen N Harper

Mrs. Harper was a lifelong resident of Norfolk and the daughter of the late Walker A. and Carris W. Nesbitt. She was a graduate of Maury High School and attended Kees Business College. Helen worked with Universal Products Co. for six years and later retired from General Motors Acceptance Corp. with thirty years of service.

She was preceded in death by her husband of twenty-five years, William Robert Harper.

Survivors include her son, William Thomas Chory Jr. and his wife Madonna Rich Chory and grandson Matthew Thomas Chory of Chesapeake, VA.

She was a member of Woodland Heights Baptist Church in Chesapeake, VA and active in the Women On Missions, the Naomi Bible Class and Seniors Fellowship Club of the Church.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Norview Chapel.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, 11:00 a.m. at Woodland Heights Baptist Church with Dr. Ken Barnes officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
