Howard Walter Wiseman, a resident of Lake Taylor Nursing Facility passed away Sunday, August 9, 2015, at the age of 93. He was born to Ruth and Frank Wiseman on November 18, 1921 in Roanoke, VA. He was one of six children, all of whom have predeceased him. He was married to Dorothea Maxine Maynard on June 21, 1945. Mrs. Wiseman predeceased him in August of 2014.
Mr. Wiseman served in the army during WWII and received an honorable discharge in 1949. He received a bachelor’s degree in economics from William and Mary. Mr. Wiseman was retired from the Naval Criminal Investigation Agency after 25 years of service. He was very active in the DAV and VA. Fraternal Order of Police and served in a number of capacities in both organizations. He was a man of honor, integrity and patriotism.
Mr. Wiseman is survived by many nieces, nephews and a sister-in-law as well as a number of great nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, 6309 E. Virginia Beach Blvd. Norfolk, VA on August 26, 2015 at 11 AM. He will be buried next to his wife, Dotty Wiseman.
