Jimmy has served in both the United States Navy and Air Force. Soon after, Jimmy met the love of his life, Edna. To this union, two sons were born. Jimmy worked as a Missile Electronics Specialist for the United States Government where he manufactured missile heads. He was also a pilot and has served as one of the officers of the Shiner's Airwing. Jimmy had a passion for his farm and golfing which he played most of his life anywhere he could. He ran a very successful chain of laundromats and many other business ventures.
Jimmy is survived by his beloved wife of 72 years, Mrs. Edna Rogers; his son Greg Rogers (Kim); and his son Keith Rogers. He was preceded in death by his father Rouche Rogers and his mother Mary Rogers.
A visitation for Jimmy will be held Thursday, December 29, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd, Norfolk, Virginia 23502. A celebration of life will occur Thursday, December 29, 2022 at 2:00 PM, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd, Norfolk, Virginia 23502.
Jimmy will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, 6309 E. Virginia Beach Blvd, Norfolk, Virginia 23502.
