James A Sellers

JAMES A. SELLERS "J.A." VIRGINIA BEACH- James Alvin Sellers "J.A.", 82, cherished husband, dad, brother, granddaddy and friend went to be with the Lord November 16, 2010. Mr. Sellers was born in North Carolina to Richard and Annie Sellers. He was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon for over 40 years. James and wife Mildred were married in 1952. James was a Korean War veteran and dedicated Retiree of the U.S. Corps of Engineers

Mr. Sellers was predeceased by two brothers, Richard Sellers, Robert Sellers, and two sisters Jane Daughtry and Gilberta Perry. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Mildred Sellers; three children, Donnie Sellers and wife Vicki, Terry Sellers and wife Lori, and Belinda Richardson and husband David; eight grandchildren, Alan Sellers, John Sellers, Jeremy Richardson, Amy Lewis, Anthony "Neil" Sellers, Christopher Richardson, Morgan Sellers, and Tara Sellers; four great-grandchildren, Brighton Sellers, Raelyn Sellers, Hannah Lewis, and Nicole Richardson; sister, Annie-Myrtle, and many wonderful nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank the many medical staff and nurses of Davita Dialysis Center and Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital.

The visitation will be held on Friday, November 19, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Calvary Baptist Church, 4832 Haygood Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23455. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2010 at 10:30am at Calvary Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
