James W. Woodworth

Woody was born in Portsmouth, VA on November 12, 1934, to Basil Lymon and Lola Mae Snyder Woodworth.

Woody shared a wonderful , loving marriage of 51 years to Georgia Looney Woodworth. He worked 40 years for VA Pilot and Ledger Star in the mailing department and retired in 1993. One of his favorites, was traveling to Las Vegas.

He was preceded in death by daughter, Diane Marie Woodworth-Meads; sisters, Lola Mae Woodworth-Davis, Dorothy MCcomsey, Betty Gray, Mary Elizabeth Woodworth; brothers, Basil L. Woodworth Jr., Richard M. Woodworth, and Samuel Lee Woodworth.

James W. Woodworth is survived by wife, Georgia ; sons, James Woodworth Jr.(Pamela), Raymond C. Woodworth, and stepson, Randall Marino; daughters, Elizabeth Ann Smith (Kenneth); Mary Frances Poole; brothers, John W. Woodworth (Nancy), Joseph M. Woodworth, Thomas M. Woodworth (Jean), Charles H. Woodworth; sister, Bessie Dixon (Robert); 9 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 2pm Friday, on December 18, 2015, at Woodlawn Funeral Home in the chapel. Rev. Ernest Trueblood will be officiating the funeral service.
