Joan B Harrell

Mrs. Joan Brinck Harrell went home to be with her lord and savior December 23, 2013. The former Joan Lorraine Floyd was born June 22, 1932 in Medford, MA and has resided in Norfolk, VA since 1954. She was the widow of Philip R. Brinck and Clifton M. Harrell and was predeceased by a son, Barry J. Brinck and her parents Arthur Dow Floyd and Gertrude Macklin Floyd. Mrs. Harrell was a music student, studying piano and vocal music, having sung at hospitals, military bases, churches and entertainment groups in the New England area. Surviving are three sons, Norman J. Brinck (Brenda) of Chesapeake, VA, Richard P. Brinck of Lawton, OK and Dennis H. Brinck of Chattanooga, TN, 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Friday, December 27 from 6 – 8 pm at the funeral home. A chapel service will be held on Saturday at 11 AM at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd. Norfolk, VA with interment following at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Joan Brinck Harrell may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Kingdom Life Ministries, 1280 Bells Mill Rd, Chesapeake, VA 23322.
