

Joy Marie Tice, age 68, of Norfolk, Virginia passed away on Wednesday, August 20, 2025. She was born in Putnam, CT to the late Robert and Pamela Bourque. Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by her half brother, Bobby Bourque.
Joy was always a thrill seeker from the biggest and fastest roller coasters to sky diving. Joy was always there for people even when she wasn't 100% she was still wanting to help you. It took many years of taking a course here and there for her to get her associates degree. Joy was a certified Medical assistant for 25 years and was happiest when she was able to assist patients. Joy was a director of the Red Cross on and around Putnam Ct organizing blood drives and relief for who suffered from a disaster. Again going back to one of Joy's greatest attributes helping others. Huge advocate for Women's Rights and in Planned Parenthood and the Education of Women.
Survived by John Tice; son, Aaron Joyal; daughter, Lindsey Sanderford; daughter in law, Amber Joyal; son in law, Greg Sanderford; nephews, Tristan and James; niece Laura; grandchildren, Allison, Brianna, Cody, Savannah, Taylor, Kameron, Hailey; and great grandchild, Kaylee; brother, Steve Bourque and his wife Rita; and sister, Trudy Bourque.
She was an reader, especially mystery novels. When she was unable to hold the book to read comfortably, she was a fan of the True Crime genre of TV shows, especially Law & Order: SVU and Homicide Hunter.
