Together they operated Pearl’s Record Bar for 20 years. Retiring from the Navy in 1972, he began a second career at Norfolk Naval Shipyard for the next 20 years. Judge Barge had many loves: fine cars, politics, civil rights, his sisters and brothers, and his beloved three granddaughters; Brandy Boyce-Mayfield, Jade Munden and Sydney Munden. Left to cherish his memories are four siblings: Richard Barge, Foy Barge, Melanie Reese, and Mansfield Barge; many cherished nieces and nephews and a host of special friends and neighbors.
