

Larry Wayne Pulliam 1176 Pascal Place Norfolk, VA 23502 Died May 8, 2010 Norfolk, VA Born in Long Beach, California February 14, 1958 Larry W. Pulliam died suddenly in his home on May 8, 2010. Larry was Self Employed for the past five years as an Independent Registered Representative with Quest Capital Strategies Inc., as a Retirement and Investment Planner for a select portfolio of small businesses and private clients. Prior to his Self Employment Larry was with the firm of Financial Designs of Virginia of Virginia Beach for many years, also as a Retirement and Investment Planner, working primarily with a select group of clients. After graduation from the University of Virginia, McIntire School of Commerce '80, with a degree in Finance and Management, where he was frequently an honors student, Larry was employed by Sovran Bank, N.A. as a Trust Officer (now Bank of America), Norfolk, Virginia where he valued stocks and managed a wide array of investment portfolios. Later he worked as a Stock Broker with Prudential Bache Securities, Norfolk, Virginia where he trained at the US Stock Exchange in New York City. Larry was a Registered and Certified Personal Trainer with the American Council on Exercise and had been for many years, and was developing his own personal training website. He recently secured his own domain, Fast2Fitness.com, which he was about to launch in the near future, among other internet business ventures he was researching. Larry was an avid Body Builder and Power Lifter up to his death, and received the distinction of 3rd Place "Mr. Teenage Virginia" in 1975 and 1976. He graduated number two in his High School graduation class in 1976, from Lake Taylor High, Norfolk, VA and was on the Virginian Pilot Scholastic Team in High School numerous times, where he also played football for his beloved Titans. He was identified in High School as gifted in Math and Sciences and received honors in History as well. He was considered to be an intellectual leader and was known for his ability to articulate a different viewpoint on a range of topics. All the while he was kind and gentle in his approach, but resolved. Larry was survived by his loving and devoted Life Partner, Bobi Caryl Partin of Norfolk, Virginia. He is also survived by his Paternal Father whom he cherished, Paul Pulliam of Hemet, California, his Mother, whom he cared for beyond words, Connie Dell Wrenn of Norfolk, Virginia and revered Brother Steven E. Pulliam of West Virginia (wife Cam), all of whom he loved deeply. Larry held a special bond with his Step Father, Edmund A. Wrenn. This bond also extended to Edmund's entire family. He loved dearly his cousins George and Janet Moore and their son; Ricky Wrenn and his wife and children; and Vickie Wrenn Howard and all of his Aunts and Uncles including Dickie and Nancy Wrenn all of who survive him and Jimmy and Shirley Wrenn (deceased). He also cherished the family of his Step Mother, Lori Wrenn (deceased). Larry was also loved dearly by Bobi's family; her Father "Dink" Partin of Angier, North Carolina, her Mother, Robin Clair of St. John, US Virgin Islands, and her Sister, Beni Donnelly of Austin, Texas. He cherished his Niece and Nephew Heather and Billy Pulliam, and Conor Donnelly. He sincerely loved his Grandparents who pre-deceased him, Grandfather Anderson of New Mexico, Grandmother Anderson of Norfolk, Virginia and Grandfather and Grandmother Pulliam of California and Grandfather and Grandmother Wrenn of Norfolk, VA. He also loved deeply the family of Bob Dean of New Mexico. He cherished as well as his Aunt Priscilla of California and her children, and Uncles Stan (deceased), wife Donna Anderson of California and Milt Anderson (Carrie) of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho and their children. Services will be held Friday, May 14, 2010 at 11:00 am at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Bvd., Norfolk, VA 23502, phone 757-467-4054. Presiding Clergy is Tom Mercer. Burial and viewing will be private. A gathering of family and friends will be held at the home of his beloved cousins Janet and George Moore, on Thursday May 13, 2010 from 6pm to 8pm.
